Located inland, it is one of the most geographically central towns of the island one can find the small town of Santa Gertrudis. As a result of its position many pass through it when when travelling from one side to the other. Those who stop to take a look will undoubtedly be impressed by the wonderful simplicity of the erstwhile farming town.

| The many cafes, eateries and art galleries lend to its air of having being embraced by the curious travellers of the 1960s. In fact it was not uncommon in Santa Gertrudis for impecunious artists of the period to proffer their work in exchange for food. Many of these artworks can still be found hanging on the walls of local galleries and cafes. The church which dates from the late 18th century, dominates the town centre. Directly opposite is the town's most revered eatery, as well as one of the best Ibiza Restaurants, La Plaza.
